Complete Training Overview

In the West, Motivation is the foundation for all change processes in psychotherapy and other growth-related processes.  People who participate in psychotherapy or other growth-related practices, who are not motivated for change, go through the emotions of the process but they don't really change very much.  So, starting with proper motivation is the foundation for any kind of change process.

In the East, there is an extensive literature in Tibetan Buddhism on motivation for change.  It is far more specific.  It is not change in general.  It is addressing the question what makes people put aside the everyday busyness of their everyday life in order to take spiritual practice as a priority.

Some people are much more expressive of their emotions when they feel them.  Other people have a pattern of inhibiting emotions, so they rarely ever express them.  Teaching people to recognize their feelings as a bodily felt experience and to find healthy ways to express those feelings has significant health benefits.

This is very important for executives/professionals to practice how to recognize and have healthy channels of expression of emotions so they don’t get into health risk problems as a result of all the responsibilities they have at work.

When we experience a traumatic event two things happen.  We depersonalize it, we think it doesn't happen to us. The opposite of personalization, personification and second of all, we de-realize it, we minimize the emotional impact and we describe it in abstract terms without seeing that it had an emotional impact on us.  Unfinished emotional business may compromise the immune system’s capacity to detect illness and lead to greater risk for illness behaviors.

Learn how easy it is to access what's emotionally unfinished in your life and to make a place for it and if you make a place for it and process what's unprocessed, finish the processing of that on the one hand and in that processing you take a different perspective on this experience, you settle with it and it no longer puts you in health risk.

How do we transform toxic negative communication into something positive?  Most of this research was done in the context of couples and observing couples and providing techniques to couples for transforming their toxic blaming and negative fighting behavior to something positive. Mapped into something practical that you can practice at home. Experience practical exercises on learning to feel expressions of emotions and heal them.

This module looks at how emotions have to do with visceral perception. Visceral perception is the degree to which a person is aware of visceral changes within the body.  In general, it means the capacity to be aware of broad physiological changes like blood pressure, blood sugar, autonomic changes in the autonomic nervous system, the degree of stress for example, or tension the person feels in the musculature.

This module is on tolerance of emotions and the ability to modulate the intensity of immediate felt emotions between the extremes of feeling too much or too little.  People who have difficulty tolerating emotional states in general complain frequently of feeling too much intensity and being overwhelmed and disorganized by the intensity of the feelings, or the opposite, they don’t feel at all, they feel too little.  People who have good skills and affect tolerance can find some balance between the extremes of feeling too much and too little, so they can feel, they can modulate the feelings in a way that they are tolerable.

Learn the tools to help give you the power of which is it helps you to focus on your immediate felt experience and not prematurely label yourself by thinking too much about it or by having a specific feeling state and to listen to the undercurrent of immediate felt experience, particularly the undercurrent as you hold in the felt sense of your body and doing that until you can notice a shift occurring by which you are informed more carefully about what the nature of this message it, it is a way of carefully listening to yourself in an authentic way.

In this module there is an indepth designed method to reinforce and discover strategies for active coping and replace them with strategies of passive coping.  Most of us have a whole range of coping strategies within us that we never tap, so this module is designed to help you to discover your own inner active coping resources that you wouldn’t normally think that you had and to put them online so you can use them in whatever the stressors are in your daily life.

Along the developmental line of self development, there are three major stages.  The first stage is development of self definition that is knowing who you are.  Second stage is development of self agency or knowing what you're about in the world and in the interpersonal world.  And the third stage is self-esteem, that is feeling good about yourself.  Those are progressive in various stages in the development of a sense of self.

Learn to constructing a core belief map looking at how limiting beliefs and positive beliefs both affected your outlook and your behavior at various stages of your life growing up and into adulthood.  Thenlearn to identify the specific limiting beliefs and schemas for you using the Young Schema Questionnaire and then we will have you pick out the limiting beliefs that's most problematic for you and we will introduce methods to change that limiting belief.

Social anxiety affects about 2% of the population, that’s a traditional number, but there is some evidence to suggest that it is probably higher in this generation of millennials with social media because there is much more expression of social anxiety and worrying about whether people are being liked by their peers or in social media, so it actually promotes more social anxiety than was otherwise traditionally the case.

Learn to diminish the specific ways that you anticipate being evaluated negatively by others when you are in social situations or have significantly less anxious arousal and you find yourself avoiding the situations that you fear less and less and find yourself looking forward to being in those situations and feeling good about yourself and holding a good sense of yourself in those situations especially.

Human attachment is a very important part of emotional growth. Attachment disturbances affect about 32% of people in modern western culture and up to 90% of individuals in areas of conflict over generations.

This module goes in-depth into the four style of attachment and gives you a path forward to heal the attachment disturbance with practical exercises and testing.

Some time ago a study was conducted about people who went into psychotherapy and the results showed that just about 50% of people who came into psychotherapy didn't come in for diagnosis of psychiatric conditions, they came in for problems with relationships.  Just about one out of two people who come into psychotherapy come in because they are dissatisfied with their relationships. This module outlines Core Conflictual Relational Themes.
